Liz started writing in seventh grade, distributing serials to anyone who would read her racy dramas during Homeroom period. This burgeoning career as a writer was almost cut short when the stories landed in the wrong hands (i.e. teacher) and she was sent to the principal's office with a recommendation for counseling. Thank goodness Sister Gerri had other ideas and she sent Liz to join the Poetry Club and the rest is history – at least, inside her head.
Liz grew up reading thrillers and awfully long sagas like James Clavell's Shogun
, Colleen McCullough's Thornbirds
, Harold Robbins' The Adventurers
, and Peter Straub's Ghost Story
. Her favorite authors include Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, Shirley Jackson, Michel Farber, and CD Reiss.
These days, Liz writes women's fiction and contemporary romance, and some of her stories are steamier than others. She also writes erotic romance under a pen name that shall not be named. One day she might slip and say it out loud but until then, mum's the word! She also writes clean stories under Lizbeth Durano - and this mostly for her family so they have something safe to read.
When she's not writing and letting her muses run the show, she's reading books, drinking too much coffee, and probably stepping over her son's Lego pieces around the house as she tells him to pick up after himself. She lives with her family and a Chihuahua in Los Angeles.
